At the Shri Gajanan Maharaj Temple in the Cumming area of Atlanta, Georgia various religious and cultural programs are celebrated throughout the year with great devotion. On festivals such as Ram Navami, Guru Purnima, Rishi Panchami, and Datta Jayanti, activities like kirtan, bhajan, spiritual discourses, chanting of the divine name, and japa are regularly conducted.
In 2026, on the occasion of Shri Gajanan Maharaj’s Prakat Din (Manifestation Day), women members of the NADTAL organization—who are also devotees of Shri Gajanan Maharaj—presented a Shri Krishna Raas as a heartfelt offering at the Maharaj’s holy feet. Dressed in traditional Paithani sarees, with neatly tied hair buns adorned with gajra, wearing nose rings and a crescent mark on their foreheads, these women performed a graceful dance based on the rhythmic playing of tipari (dandiya sticks).
This performance was not the traditional Garba performed in a circular formation around Goddess Amba, but rather an attempt to depict the Raas Leela of Shri Krishna. Accompanied by the rhythmic beats of tipari and the chanting of “Hari, Mukund, Narayan, Keshav, Govind,” the Krishna Raas presented in the temple was truly mesmerizing.
The devotional energy awakened through NADTAL`s presentation was reverently offered at the feet of Shri Gajanan Maharaj. This heartfelt effort, intended to let waves of spiritual joy reach the hearts of devotees, deeply touched everyone present.
This was NADTAL organization’s first-ever dance performance based on tipari (dandiya) accompaniment, and they were blessed with the opportunity to present their first performance of 2026 at Shri Gajanan Maharaj Temple. The organization expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the temple’s executive committee for this honor.
अटलांटा येथील कम्मिंग परिसरात असलेल्या श्री गजानन महाराजांच्या मंदिरात वर्षभर विविध धार्मिक व सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम मोठ्या भक्तिभावाने साजरे केले जातात. रामनवमी, गुरु पौर्णिमा, ऋषी पंचमी, दत्त जयंती अशा अनेक सणांच्या दिवशी येथे कीर्तन, भजन, प्रवचन, नामस्मरण व जप यांसारखे उपक्रम नियमितपणे होत असतात.या २०२६या वर्षी श्री गजानन महाराजांच्या प्रकट दिनाच्या सोहळ्यादिवशी नादताल संस्थेच्या सभासद व श्री गजानन महाराजांच्या भक्त असलेल्या स्त्रियांनी श्रीकृष्ण रास सादर करून महाराजांच्या चरणी आपली भावपूर्ण सेवा अर्पण केली. पारंपरिक पैठणी साडी, केसांत अंबाडा, त्यावर गजरा, नाकात नथ आणि कपाळावर चंद्रकोर धारण केलेल्या या स्त्रियांनी टिपऱ्या (दांडिया) वादनावर आधारित अत्यंत देखणे नृत्य सादर केले.हे नृत्य श्री अंबामातेभोवती फेर धरून सादर होणाऱ्या पारंपरिक गरब्यासारखे नसून, श्रीकृष्णाच्या रासलीलेसारखे नृत्य दाखवण्याचा प्रयत्न होता. मंदिरात टिपऱ्यांच्या ठेक्यावर “हरि, मुकुंद, नारायण, केशव, गोविंद” असे नामस्मरण करत सादर करण्यात आलेला हा कृष्ण रास अत्यंत विलोभनीय ठरला. नादताल संस्थेच्या या सादरीकरणातून जागृत झालेले भक्तीचे स्फुरण श्री गजानन महाराजांच्या चरणी श्रद्धेने अर्पण करण्यात आले. त्या आनंदलहरी भक्तांच्या हृदयापर्यंत पोहोचाव्यात, यासाठी केलेला हा मनस्वी प्रयत्न सर्वांना भावस्पर्शी ठरला.नादताल संस्थेने प्रथमच टिपऱ्या (दांडिया) वादनावर आधारित नृत्य सादर केले आणि २०२६ सालातील हे पहिले सादरीकरण श्री गजानन महाराजांच्या मंदिरात करण्याचे सौभाग्य लाभले—याबद्दल मंदिराच्या कार्यकारी मंडळाचे मनःपूर्वक आभार..
